Richard “Rick” Henderson takes over as chief executive of BriteCap Financial, the company said on September 17. Sri Kaza, the outgoing CEO, steps aside.

By its own account, BriteCap lends to small businesses without being a bank. It deals with merchants directly and also through a network of brokers, and it dates its activity to 2003. Staff are based in North Hollywood, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Comments on the handover

Kaza said the moment suits a change, since BriteCap is preparing to push its products out widely. He expects Henderson’s industry contacts and track record to open the door to many additional small firms.

BriteCap has sat inside the group built around North Mill Equipment Finance (NMEF) since 2023. NMEF’s chairman and chief executive, David C. Lee, said Henderson has spent more than twenty years in equipment finance and working-capital lending, a background that suits the parent’s goal of offering small and midsize businesses a broader range of capital. Lee added that NMEF hopes to design programs with BriteCap for the referral partners it values most.

Henderson said he was “excited to join BriteCap and lead such a respected, values-driven company.” He described a technology-enabled platform that pairs the speed of self-service with a supportive team. He said he looks forward to working with BriteCap’s staff and its strategic referral partners, and named business owners and the brokers who support them as the people the company serves.

The parent company

NMEF writes and services small to mid-sized equipment leases and loans between $15,000 and $2.5 million. It describes itself as broker-centric and is controlled by an affiliate of InterVest Capital Partners. Headquarters are in Norwalk, Connecticut, with regional offices in Irvine, California, and Voorhees, New Jersey.

What the announcement leaves out

The text is silent on Henderson’s previous employers, on what Kaza does next, and on any change to BriteCap’s products or broker terms. It characterizes BriteCap’s financing as “alternatives such as working capital loans” and states no pricing, cost figures or approval standards.
